A few years after 'Star Wars' was released, NPR decided to try and create a 'Star Wars' radio drama, and they did.

-George Lucas sold the radio rights, original music and sfx for $1 so NPR could create this series.

-NPR co-produced this series with the BBC (they had more experience with radio dramas)

-The series was on the air from 1981-1996
